  • A new year will hopefully bring some good news for FALIE, which is, since 2021, still on a slipway at North Arm, Port Adelaide waiting for Government funds to patch the steel hull. Volunteers are continuing the preservation to the decks and doing a fabulous job.

  • Thanks to a grant from the History Trust of SA and design by Peter Charlton, FALIE can now 'drift' across the world wide web in fair weather or foul to reach the shores of far away places!

  • The grant is to build this website and training for the webmaster to maintain it. As members of the Museum and Collections program, Historic Ketch Falie applied for a grant to cover the cost of a professional rebuild of the website.

  • Volunteer Lyn O’Grady will begin interviewing past crew members, charter passengers, grain trade re-enactment attendees and members of the Falie Project Ltd board. A copy of the interviews will be stored at the Port Adelaide Library for general access.

  • It's been 18 months since the volunteers last did any maintenance on FALIE whilst on the slip. They found lines perished, patches of rust on the decks, varnished timberwork in need of TLC.

  • At the North Arm Slipway, FALIE was raised onto a slip for repairs to the stern, hull cleaning and painting. With the work all done, FALIE was returned to the water only to discover she was taking in water, so re-slipped.  After repairs, another attempt brought a similar problem so had to return to slip[...]
